Why CADET-Lite?
Building directly from an active Unity project is disruptive. The editor gets locked, iteration slows down, and it becomes harder to keep build output predictable. CADET-Lite is designed to reduce that friction by separating day-to-day editing from build execution. Use it to:
- Keep working while a build is running.
- Prepare repeatable build jobs for different targets or output paths.
- Avoid manual project copy workflows.
- Reduce mistakes caused by ad hoc build steps.
CADET-Lite is a Unity Editor extension for solo devs or teams who want cleaner, faster build workflows without leaving the Editor. It helps you execute external builds, run them in the background, and isolate each job in its own synced workspace so your main project stays usable while builds are running. Active background builds can continue even if you close Unity and reopen later.
What CADET-Lite does
- Queue Unity builds from a single editor window.
- Run builds in the background so the Editor stays responsive.
- Continue active background builds across Unity Editor close/reopen.
- Create isolated per-job workspaces using directory sync.
- Keep build activity organized with status, active job tracking, and completed job history.
- Reuse saved build profiles for repeatable build configurations.
Background build queue
Queue one or more builds and let CADET-Lite process them in order. You can monitor active, completed, failed, and cancelled jobs from the build UI, and reconnect to running jobs after reopening Unity.
Workspace sync per job
CADET-Lite can create a synced workspace for each queued job, helping isolate build execution from your active development project. This makes build runs easier to manage and lowers the risk of editor-time changes interfering with a queued build.
Build profiles
Save reusable build settings so you do not have to re-enter project paths, Unity editor paths, output paths, and related build options every time.
Editor-first workflow
Everything is driven from the Unity Editor UI. The package is intended for developers who want structured build automation without maintaining their own custom build pipeline tooling.
Included in CADET-Lite
