🌐 Network Topologies 🌐
Fusion supports both Shared Authority and Client-Server topologies, with the latter supporting both Dedicated Servers and Client Hosts.
Fusion Shared Authority is the easiest way to launch a multiplayer game with accurate tick-aligned data between clients. Using Fusion Shared means there is no need to think about hosting while keeping accurate snapshot interpolation. Shared Authority runs directly on top of the battle-proven Photon Cloud, so teams can build global multiplayer hits without operating a dedicated server fleet.
Fusion Client Host and Dedicated Server provide more accuracy with Client Side Prediction, Sub-Tick Lag Compensation, configurable input delay, and flexible tick and send rates. Dedicated Servers can run on your own infrastructure, giving you control over deployment, customization, and direct client connections.
Fusion also includes Object Send Priority, giving developers control over how often specific networked objects are updated. This helps reduce bandwidth for less important or distant objects, including per-player priority control.
⚡ Network Physics ⚡
The Unity Physics addon included with Fusion simplifies managing complex interactions of physical objects in networked environments. Client Side Prediction and Rollback of Rigidbody and Rigidbody2D provide snappy feedback to the player.
Forecast Physics provides a lower-CPU alternative for physics-based multiplayer interactions, helping physics objects remain smoothly interactable across clients without relying on full physics prediction for every interaction.
Lag Compensation in Fusion automatically uses the correct interpolated animation for hitbox position from Render, supports 2D & 3D use cases, can query against the physics scene, and includes support for 3D capsule hitboxes.
💎 Network Gameplay 💎
The Change Detection API allows tick-accurate detection of changes in network properties, which is essential for gameplay mechanics, and render-accurate detection for smooth display and interpolation of visual effects (VFX).
Fusion supports Networked Properties, RPCs, Large Data RPCs, scene management, and consistent player identity across reconnects through Player Unique Id.
Our Finite State Machine (FSM) addon helps you manage your game world transitions logic and conditions. Using our networked FSM in game development provides several benefits, including easier maintenance, better organization, and reduced complexity.
🚶 Kinematic Character Controller 🚶
As an included addon, Simple KCC gives you a user-friendly 3D character controller for Fusion, simplifying character moveme
