Save on Tri-Planar and all other Heathen Shaders with Heathen's Shaders
Available Now!
No more texture stretching!
Physical Based Shader (PBS) with World and Object projection options on the single shader. No UVs required the shader will calculate the projection in the chosen method rendering with the same PBS lighting as Heathen's Standard and Unity Standard physically based shaders.
The package includes Heathen's classic Tri-planar Essentials collection with a wide array of traditional tri-planar shaders in various projection models.
Heathen's classic triplanar shaders calculate UVs such that textures are projected evenly across the mesh e.g. UV free models are no problem.
Unlike many implementations Heathen’s TriPlanar Essential shaders do respect Tiling and Offset from the texture as defined in the editor.
Terrain shaders and Unity 5 standard lighting (PBS) shader variants are available in this package.
Heathen’s Tri-Planar Essentials includes more than 30 triplanar shaders using 4 different methods of projection each with its own strengths and weaknesses:
Basic (X, Y, Z textures, Object projection)
Good for things with a front, back and top/bottom such as walls, bridges and other structures.
Simple (Single texture, Object projection)
The simplest possible tri-planar projection this simply wraps 1 texture around your mesh evenly and has countless uses for when you don’t want your texture to stretch but can’t rely on texture tiling at design time.
Tops (Top, Side, Bottom textures, Object projection)
Similar to Basic but uses the same texture for front and back and has different textures for top and bottom useful for ceiling/roof and similar situations.
World (Top, Side, Bottom textures, World projection)
Similar to Tops but projects in world space this should only be used on static objects but is great for caves, buildings, ships, etc. where you have a complex shape and need all faces which look down to have a different texture than those looking up such as Grass on top and stone or dirt on the bottom.
Transparent, Cutout, Bumped, Specular and Parallax are covered (note transparent & parallax are not available on all projection methods).
Unity Terrain and Unity Standard lighting (PBS) variants are also included.
Shader Model 4 is required for the more complex shaders; many are supported by model 2 and they will work with Unity Indie aka Personal.
